Gemma Skellern joined us in August on a Work Based Learning placement from the University of Chester. It was wonderful to welcome Gemma into the team and, as she is just about to embark on her third year in Microbiology, she brought some real value to our projects. After some brief introductions, we were really encouraged how well Gemma slipped into our virtual work pattern.

In such a short time Gemma contributed greatly to our home monitoring research, our NEWS Bunny project and did some stellar work on decontamination for VR headsets. Grappling with the complexities of our projects was not a problem for Gemma, and so she contributed to the next round of case studies, which will be on our website shortly.

We want to wish Gemma all the very best for her third year at Chester and we are sure that she will be a great asset to the University and achieve some excellent grades in her studies.
